Winter 2016-17

Winter months on the Great Lakes brings extremely cold temperatures, snow, freezing rain, wind and very thick ice. February 2015 Lake Erie froze over with plate ice running 16-24" thick. Our marina starts lifting boats out for the winter in early October with most being out by early November. The below photos show the why of taking our boats out for the winter months.

A shot of our middle son (6' 2") standing on the ice pack at Marblehead Lighthouse in March of 2014.

Same location during summer.
